Black History Month

This month I am going to attempt to take a little journey through history. My effort will be to choose a different event or person to discuss each day that has impacted the journey toward civil rights in the 21st Century. I will unpack and celebrate how the topic helped to unlock the shackles of tyranny that oppressed African American culture throughout U. S. history.

In most of these ramblings I will attempt to give the reader a description of the event, why I think it was crucial in the unfolding of civil rights, and what lasting lessons we can learn from studying the situation. My efforts are not going to be perfectly elucidated, but as I expound and expand from my own personal perspective and opinions I hope readers will enjoy my ramblings, or at least learn something. If I am off base or am over stepping my boundaries, I'm sorry (I am only human). My intentions are pure. But if you click away having learned something about this topic, your country, yourself, or even me then I will count it a success and will write on.
